Weissy, version v1 · An integral part of the Terms of Use
Weissy is about sport with the people around you. You show what you do, you cheer each other on, you meet up for real. So that everyone feels good here, there are rules. They are short, and each one has an identifier.
Why these rules
Each rule has an identifier (for example RC-03). If we remove any of your content, we tell you which rule it breaks, with that identifier, and why.
Where they apply: everywhere on Weissy. Your profile, your messages, groups, outings, challenges, videos, captions, comments. And also when you meet up for real through the app.
Their standing: they are part of the Terms of Use. By using Weissy, you undertake to follow them. Weissy tolerates no objectionable content and no abusive behaviour.
RC-01 · Protect minors: zero tolerance
In short: nothing, ever, that puts a child or a teenager at risk.
Not allowed:
- any content that shows a minor in a sexual way or sexualises them, including a drawing, an edit or an image created with artificial intelligence;
- asking a minor for intimate photos or videos, or sending them any;
- contacting a minor for a sexual purpose, or gaining their trust for that purpose;
- threatening to share intimate images to get something from someone (blackmail, sextortion);
- sharing, requesting or pointing to such content.
What we do: removal as soon as we become aware of it, a report to the authorities, and a breach of this rule may lead to an immediate ban of the account, without warning. We keep the material useful to the investigation, available to the authorities.
If you come across such content: report it in the app, or write to contact@weissy.net, or report it on PHAROS (internet-signalement.gouv.fr), the French official reporting portal. Do not share it, not even to denounce it: distributing it is against the law.
RC-02 · No nudity or sexual content
In short: Weissy is about sport, not sex.
Not allowed:
- nudity, sexual acts, sexual content;
- sexual propositions or messages the person did not ask for;
- posting or sending intimate images of someone, with or without their consent.
Still allowed: normal sportswear in its context (a swimsuit at the pool, a running crop top, a gymnastics leotard).
RC-03 · No harassment or bullying
In short: you can disagree, you do not gang up on someone.
Not allowed:
- insulting, humiliating or mocking someone, their body, their level or their video;
- writing again and again to someone who does not reply or who has asked you to stop;
- pushing other people to go after someone (mass comments, “raids”);
- posting a video or a comment only to ridicule someone.
Still allowed: polite criticism, a reasoned disagreement, teasing between friends who both laugh about it.
RC-04 · No hate or discrimination
In short: nobody is attacked for who they are.
Not allowed: insulting, belittling, excluding or threatening a person or a group because of their origin, skin colour, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, health, age or appearance; displaying hateful symbols or slogans; glorifying crimes against humanity.
RC-05 · No violence or threats
In short: sport, yes; violence, no.
Not allowed:
- threatening someone, calling for violence against a person or a group;
- filming or sharing a fight, an assault or real violence;
- posting shocking or gory images, or cruelty to animals;
- glorifying terrorism.
Still allowed: combat sports practised in a sporting, consensual setting (boxing, judo, wrestling), a sports fall or collision shown without dwelling on it.
RC-06 · No endangerment
In short: a Weissy challenge must never put anyone in hospital.
Not allowed:
- a challenge or a video that endangers your health or other people's, or that encourages copying a dangerous move;
- practising or filming in the middle of traffic, or in a prohibited or dangerous place;
- encouraging self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, extreme diets or excessive training.
If you are not feeling well, you are not alone: in France, 3114 (the national suicide prevention line) answers free of charge, day and night.
RC-07 · Consent of the people you film
In short: you do not film anyone without their agreement.
- Every recognisable person in your video must agree to appear in it, and to be seen by all Weissy users.
- If that person is a minor (and it is not you), their parents must agree too.
- Never film someone without them knowing, and never in a private place (changing room, shower, their home).
- If someone asks you to remove a video they appear in, remove it.
RC-08 · Respect other people's privacy
In short: other people's personal information does not belong to you.
Not allowed: posting someone's address, phone number, school, workplace or location; posting a screenshot of a private conversation without the consent of the people in it; trying to locate or follow someone.
RC-09 · No illegal activities or dangerous products
In short: Weissy is not a place to sell or show off what is prohibited or dangerous.
Not allowed: selling, buying, promoting or glamorising drugs, doping products, misused medicines or weapons; promoting alcohol, tobacco or e-cigarettes; organising bets or gambling; offering a scam or counterfeit goods.
RC-10 · Be yourself
In short: one account, one person, the real one.
Not allowed: pretending to be another person, a brand, a creator or the Weissy team; creating a fake profile; declaring a false date of birth; having several accounts.
RC-11 · Play fair
In short: a challenge is won fairly.
Not allowed:
- artificially inflating Edelweiss (multiple accounts, organised swaps, buying them);
- passing off someone else's video as your own, or faking a video to mislead about a performance, in particular to obtain a reward;
- repeatedly reporting content that follows the rules;
- exploiting a technical flaw in the app.
RC-12 · No spam or hidden advertising
In short: people come for sport, not for ads.
Not allowed: repetitive or mass messages, unsolicited advertising, promotional links, chain messages. If you are paid, or receive a gift, to post a video or a comment, say so, by writing “Collaboration commerciale” in the caption, or at the start of the comment.
RC-13 · Respect other people's creations
In short: what you did not create, you do not post without permission.
Not allowed: posting music, an excerpt of a film, a broadcast or a match, someone else's video, a logo or a work you do not hold the rights to.
Tip: film with the ambient sound or your own voice. A well-known song in the background is enough for a video to be removed at the request of its rights holders.
RC-14 · Content suitable for a 16+ audience
In short: Weissy is open to people aged 16 and over; what you post must be fit for them to see.
Not allowed: content that is too crude, too shocking or meant for adults, even when no other rule covers it, such as showcasing drinking or drug use, or excessive vulgarity. This is the rule behind the “content not suitable for this age” report reason.
RC-15 · Stay on topic
In short: a response to a challenge responds to the challenge.
Not allowed: a video response unrelated to the challenge, or posted only to get people talking about something else; off-topic comments posted in series under videos.
RC-16 · Do not get around our measures
In short: a sanction or a block is to be respected.
Not allowed: creating another account after a ban or during a suspension; contacting, through other means within Weissy, a person who has blocked you; getting around a technical limit of the app.
RC-17 · Respect the law
In short: what the law prohibits is prohibited on Weissy, even if it is not written above.
For example: defamation, invasion of privacy, counterfeiting, fraud. When we remove content on this ground, we tell you which legal provision is involved.
If a rule is broken
- Every decision is explained. We tell you what we did, when, which rule is involved (its identifier and title), why, whether an automated tool contributed to it, and how to appeal.
- Sanctions are graduated. Content can be removed. If three of your video responses are removed within 90 days, you cannot send any more until that number falls back below three. Beyond that, or in the event of a serious breach, your account can be banned. A breach of RC-01 may lead to an immediate ban.
- You can appeal. Write to contact@weissy.net within six months. A member of the team reviews the decision and replies to you.
Report and block
- Report: on a video, a comment or a profile, with a single action. The reported video or comment disappears for you. The reported person does not know who reported them.
- Block: from a profile, or from a challenge player. You no longer see each other, and you can no longer message each other.
- Without an account, or for illegal content: write to contact@weissy.net explaining why the content is illegal and where it is.
If you are a victim or in danger
- Immediate danger: call 112 (emergencies) or, in France, 17 (police).
- Harassment, online abuse: in France, 3018, free, anonymous and confidential, by phone, by chat on 3018.fr or through the 3018 app.
- Suicidal thoughts: in France, 3114, free, day and night.
- Illegal content online: PHAROS, internet-signalement.gouv.fr.
Our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation
Weissy, an app published by LinkUp SAS, prohibits any content or behaviour that sexually exploits, abuses or endangers a child or a teenager (rule RC-01). In practice:
- any user can report content or a profile from the app, with a single action, and anyone can write to us at contact@weissy.net, without an account;
- every report is reviewed by a member of the team; the automated analysis we use does not detect everything, and your report is essential;
- such content is removed as soon as we become aware of it, the facts are reported to the competent authorities, in accordance with French law, and its author's account may be banned without warning;
- child safety point of contact: contact@weissy.net.
These rules may change
We may add to these rules. Identifiers are stable: a rule keeps its number forever, a new rule takes the next number, and a deleted rule is never renumbered or reassigned. Any significant change is announced to you in advance, as for the Terms of Use.
Identifier table
This is the closed list of rules that a removal decision cites. A decision can only invoke one of these rules, or a legal ground under RC-17.
