Account deletion
Delete
my account
App: Weissy — published by LinkUp SAS.
Your account is yours, and leaving should be as easy as joining. There are two ways: from the app, or on request if you no longer have access to it.
From the app
This is the fastest route, and deletion is immediate.
Three steps
- Open the Profile tab, then Settings.
- Scroll down to Delete my account.
- Confirm twice. The double confirmation is deliberate: this cannot be undone.
You are signed out of all your devices right away, and your account no longer exists.
Without the app
Uninstalled the app, changed phone, or lost access to your number? Email us at contact@weissy.net with the subject Account deletion.
What we need
- The phone number or email address linked to the account.
- Your Weissy display name, if you remember it.
We verify that the account is yours before acting — otherwise anyone could have someone else's account deleted. Deletion is carried out within 30 days at the latest, and we confirm by reply.
What is deleted
Your account is actually erased from our database, not deactivated.
Your identity and profile
- Display name, phone number, email address, profile picture, bio.
- City, date of birth, gender, sports, levels, availability, goal.
Your access
- All your sessions and sign-in tokens.
- Your devices registered for notifications.
Your personal links
- Connections, invitations sent and received, join requests.
- Challenge participations, including proof photos.
- Name tags on photos, and the notifications that mention you.
Your usage data
- We request erasure of your usage data from our analytics provider.
What remains, without your name
Some of what you wrote lives in shared spaces: other people read it, replied to it, quoted it. Destroying it would not erase personal data, it would cut into other people's memory. That content stays, detached from your identity and reattached to an anonymous account.
In practice
- Your messages in group conversations stay readable, without your name or picture.
- Your comments on outings and challenges, likewise.
- The photos you added to a group or outing gallery.
What you organised
- An upcoming outing you organised is cancelled, and the people signed up are notified. Nobody joins an outing with no one at the helm.
- A past outing stays as it is, simply anonymised: it happened, and others took part.
- Groups you administered are not destroyed: your name disappears from them.
What survives for a while, then goes
Technical logs
- Our servers keep a technical trace of incoming requests (path called, response code, timestamp), kept for 90 days then automatically deleted.
Crash reports
- If you had agreed to help with diagnostics, crash reports already sent are kept for 90 days then automatically deleted.
These traces exist only for security and for keeping the service running. Full retention periods and providers are in the privacy policy.
A question, a doubt
